Every blogger who values consistency and follow-through SHOULD be using an editorial calendar.
“Editorial calendars are used to define and control the process of creating content, from idea through writing and publication. An individual or small business might have this publishing process: Brainstorm content ideas to publish, where to publish, and when to publish.1“
An editorial calendar will help you in a number of ways:
- it will allow you to pre-plan promotions, contests or events that happen on a cyclical basis
- it will allow you to deliver consistent content to your readers
- it helps you stay on track in creating high value content to share by giving you a publishing target date
An editorial calendar doesn’t need to be fancy. To that end, I wanted a simple monthly view that I can snap in the front of my Filofax so I whipped up this super simple monthly calendar to help me stay focused and on track with my newsletter! This will be for tracking my yearly promotions. As a visual thinker, I like having the information all in one place. From the yearly view, I can get into more detail using a monthly calendar as well, allowing me to make sure I’m getting my content together in the right way, at the right time!
This calendar is A5 format
